1. If a large corporation were to go out of
business, causing severe problems of unemployment and greatly disrupting the
market, should the federal governmental subsidize them?
My, opinion
on this issue is the Government should give some leeway to the large
corporation concerning bankruptcy and their employees. Government should have a
system in place in the event of a large corporation filing bankruptcy and
threating to close or awaiting for a bail by the Government, to subsidize their
business. With some limitations as to how much the federal governmental
should subsidize. The limitations would apply after the federal governments
subsidize the company’s first bailout and then after that the federal government
would no longer subsidize the business. If one finds themselves in another default
once again during an 80 year span. The reasoning for subsidizing the
corporation the first time around and not the second time around, during the 80
year span, lies in the reasoning that if the government continually subsidized businesses
at any given moment through continually repairing large corporation errors, this
would cause a detrimental effect on the government and the taxpayer; all
together it would hurt our economy. Causing the government would have to take
more loans out just to subsidize a corporation that continues make mistake. Furthermore
it would not teach the company to learn from their mistake, if every time we
were there to risqué them. Also, the business would become dependent on the government
and the taxpayers money. But, the government should help out the first time around
for in a way the government is saying I’m rewording you for getting this far,
but do not screw it up again for this is a onetime only thing. This bailout would
keep many employees on the clock, not to lose their jobs and possible be on the
welfare system thus hurting our economy. Consequently a bailout will still
hurt someone in some way, but it would teach the company a lesson through both
ways.
2. After looking at 2011 budget (revenues/ expenditures),
my manifesto leads me to support or criticize it because…..
After observing the budgets
revenues and expenditures of 2011 leads me to criticize the way our money is being
disbursed to the public. For our government is taking more in than he is distrusting
out, since altogether the government only spent 2,303 billion dollars allow on revenues while on expenditures $3,598 billion dollars.
To me the math here looks a little off.
3. In kipping with my manifesto and after watching the
movie I.O.U.S.A explain the debt crisis faced by our nation, I propose the
fallowing.
The debt crisis
has become a tape worm eating away at our economical body till dissipation. If
we do not act now then who knows what will become of our country. The economical
debt crisis we are facing began back in 1776 and is continuously adding and
adding to the pot of destruction.
Our debt crises budget is made up of three
different deficit groups consisting of budget deficits, saving deficits, and trade
deficit. Piggy backing to this is the
government spending’s which are out of hand,
then the people of the United States believe they are entitled to entitlement thus
accumulating to our debt crises. With
the debt crisis doubling and tripling our nation is falling into an unpredictable
state. Furthermore with more and more baby boomer retiring demanding there
befits of such as social security, and Medicare. Already our social security is
paying more than it can afford. On top of this the baby boomer will double or tripling
the amount distributed out. Implying that the younger generation will be
lacking in one or all of these services, which should be there for them during
their retirement years. Another thing to
consider, this will decreasing the quality of life of our new generation since
most of their earning will be dispersed threw taxes for both the older
generation and themselves. Based on the
Physical Cliff, debt crises and budget deficits collaborating into one
cancerous economical, body of poverty again for the younger generation. Thus raising
the prices of Medicare till it’s unaffordable to purchase, possibly eliminating
it all together base on not enough money in the system. Consequently people
will become more frugal with their money depicting a domino effect on corporation
as well. In order for the corporations to stay afloat during these crises they
will start lying off their employees, placing a severe burden on our economical
system and greatly disrupting life as we know it. Subsequently the trade
deficit is importing more than we are exporting, as a result, our country is facing
deficit problem.
A solution that I would propose in
eliminating our debt crisis problem is consisting of a simple step, road to
victory. First, slowly begin to pay back our debt to other countries this will
be done through our own Government with the sales of revised Governmental Bonds
for purchase; again a safety net for the citizens and a way to bring in revenue
to the government thus decreasing our dept. Second the Federal Government will then
declare a new law stating, that all land is, and only to be purchased by and from
our own citizens of the United States rather than other countries of the world.
Third, I would put into effect a traveling tax. How this will work, is when
other countries travel to the U. S. A, they will be required to pay a tax;
based on the purchased of goods and serves. Threw this our revenue will
increase. Fourth, the Federal Government
will make Medicare more affordable for the citizen’s. Fifth, we will cap the
amount of goods that can be brought in to our countries in a year’s span. This
it will force larger corporation to produce more products here, rather than
having other country producing our goods for our consumption. Threw this the
job market will increase the money will be circulating around in our pockets
rather than other counters. Last both corporation’s tax and land owners tax
should be abolished instead replaced with a National sales tax. By fallowing all these steps, I believe over
time lower our debt crisis will began to disintegrate.
